This may result in high overhead for long paths or large addresses, like IPv6.To avoid using source routing, DSR optionally defines a flow id option that allows packets to be forwarded on a hop-by-hop basis.Determining source routes requires accumulating the address of each device between the source and destination during route discovery.The accumulated path information is cached by nodes processing the route discovery packets. To accomplish source routing, the routed packets contain the address of each device the packet will traverse.
Use of multimedia communication is increasing day-by-day which demands high Quality-of-Service for end user experience.
When packet is transmitted from client it is sent to nodes where routers are located and routing is done using routing protocol.
Based on the received messaged information routing protocol will look in routing table and transmit to the destination address.
There are many interrelated works in this process which are explained in this project with screen shots, block diagrams and data flow diagrams, routing table details, explanation on packet construction, linking and routing algorithm.
