As someone who is considered funny enough by at least three people to make a living doing it, I have always wondered whether the old "women like men who make them laugh; men like women who laugh at their jokes" thing might be reversible.
Personally, while I enjoy casually dating comedians/other professional joke-makers, I tend to fall harder for the "straight man" type, which fits with the aforementioned mating dichotomy.
She got better grades than I did (granted her major is considerably easier than mine) too.
I think I feel even more intimidated now because she is with a girl completely opposite of me. She never abused me or anything, and was generally very sweet, but she had a way of making me (who is almost 3 years older) feel little and stupid :-SI think used to intimidate my ex-girlfriend, because I don't show when I'm angry.
It is widely maintained that, at a very primal unconscious level, men seek out physically attractive women while women seek out successful men with status.
(This is a simplistic overgeneralization, I know, but bear with me.) It follows from this that women often worry that their male partners will leave them for more attractive women, and men often worry that their female partners will leave them for more successful men.
I’m fairly certain Oski’s life started out just like any other mascot, rummaging through various picnic baskets while hanging out on sets of children’s shows before ultimately taking the gig on Berkeley’s sideline.
Just wanted to know have any of you been intimidated by your boyfriend or girlfriend?
Well I have, my ex-boyfriend was very intimidating, the way he talked, walked and carried him self.
Plus, it's hot when a girl can laugh at herself or you--I like women who bust balls. I wouldn't say funny women are intimidating, I think it's a huge-turn on, but if they are (a) way funnier than you or (b) being funny by way of making fun of you, it can be somewhat disconcerting.
Granted, I think my girlfriend is the only girl I've dated who I would say is really funny, and the fact that she is more clever than I am most of the time, that just makes her the charming one of our couple.
